No batteries are required to operate iLOQ S5. The energy required to check access rights is generated by key insertion into the locking cylinder. The data between the locking cylinder and the key is transmitted using strong encryption. If access is authorised, the door can be opened by turning the key. If the key is removed, the process must be repeated.
All iLOQ S5 locking cylinders and keys are freely programmable. They can be reused and reprogrammed accordingly so that the system can be easily expanded as required.
